DIY Tire Mounting?

Can anyone give me some tips on mounting tires on your own? I want to mount a 245/35/19 on an 8.5 wheel, and 235/35/19 on an 8. I also don't want to scratch the wheels, especially since they're black.

Thanks.

Are you using a tire mounting machine? I mount my own tires on the machine but it takes practice and a good machine. Its a skill that needs to be seen to understand.

A machine that looks like this sucks for low profile tires.

A machine with the pressing arms like this makes life a bit easier.

I don't have a machine. Just want to use maybe like a crowbar or a wedge and get those tires on there without scratching the wheels.

Never going to happen with low profile tires. Pay the $20-$30 per tire for a shop to mount/balance them.

You'll have to take them into a shop to get balanced after you mount them and scratch every wheel anyways.
