DIY AAM throttle body spacer install

I had this spacer for over 2 years and didn't install it and it cost me close to $100 when I bought it. The bolts are a little longer then they should be and it's okay because I do plan on getting a 90mm throttle body to try out and it needs an intake manifold adapter while also using the spacer.
It has 3 vacuum ports and now with the EVAP system removed I have a total of 4 vacuum ports.

I did however have to cut one of the bolts to make it shorter because the plenum has no exit for the bolt to extend out.

There are probably no gains or maybe less than 1 HP. Maybe it brings down intake temps.

I know absoloutly nothing about TB Spacers...

Has anyone ever gotten anything other than looks with these things? Any gain? Sound? What is the reason for putting one of these on?

To be honest. Yes I did feel a difference in power. I'm very sensitive when it comes to any kind of differences in performance from the car and I did notice a difference.

Either way it also keeps the throttle body separate from the heat of the upper plenum. That's got to be good for something since air is now colder all the way to the inlet of the plenum instead of the inlet on the TB. By the time the cold air travels through the plenum from the inlet, it gets sucked down too fast to have time to warm up. That's just a theory but it does make sense.

Lower intake temp is true but I dont think it gains enough HP for us to feel the difference. Motordyne 5/16" or 1/2" Copper Iso Thermal is way better. Gain noticeable power and lower intake temp.

I actually have a obx tb spacer installed on my G the only noticeable thing was the cool sounds it gives off. Sounds almost like a tiny supercharger lol. I had a question though. I was plaining on later installing a MD 5/16 plenum spacer for more performance. Has anyone had experience with both tb and plenum spacers on their car? should I remove the tb and just have the plenum only? can someone help?

I've had my TBS since '06 and the most noticeable difference is the transition between gears with the 5AT, quicker smoother shifts. I've also had my MotorDyne 1/2" spacer ISO that long, it is the best bang for your $$!

Unless the OBX TBS has a fan inside I seriously doubt what you're hearing is the spacer. You can leave it in when you install the MotorDyne spacer, they're not in conflict.

right... but what I meant was, it shouldn't be viewable because I deleted the thread... only mods and admins can see the old deleted threads... but I think I may have asked ttrank to rekindle it a while back - otherwise I have no idea how its there... anyway, no biggie - aside from the drama its a good thread.
