Would the maxima 2002 vq35 engine fit in our cars?

So I'm not sure yet that my engine is blown due to a faulty thermostat that overheated the engine (probably engine is ok still... hopefully didn't overheat that much anyway). I was looking around and found a nissan maxima engine Vq35 from a 2002. I was wondering if this engine will fit in our vehicles seeing that the maximas are fwd. From what I'm hearing is that the block will be a bit higher. Any ideas I tried searching with little to no success. thanks.

it could be but it will be hella expensive since u gonna have to go through re-fabrication, new drivetrain, lower the steering column etc etc.

it will be more expensive than dropping a Titan VQ in the G

You'd have to at least swap over all the intake manifolds and any other FWD related items. So in theory, you'd be swapping short blocks. From my experience from maximas, I think someone said they are both 3.5 blocks but the FWD versions had different castings for their respective mounting positions. ie.. FWD vs RWD. Probably be best to source a G35/Z motor.

Get a RWD motor. some differences...not worth the headache.

Usually fwd and rwd blocks for the engine are cast differently due to engine mount config and transmission vs transaxle config making them incompatible. I'm sure someone who knows 100% will chime in but in my experience manufacturers with a fwd and rwd/awd version of the same engine have differences in the block not allowing them to "cross" over

Not 100% sure... but I think I remember reading that the motor mounts are cast differently.

I did some research on it a while back for my friend that wants to do a VQ swap on his Z31.

the motor mounting pads are DEFINITELY cast in a different location! Don't waste your time with a FWD VQ35 block.
