Single Exhasut VS "Dual" Exhaust

I posted this to get some feed back because I am thinking of Doing my first mod which will be a single JIC exhaust. Any pros or cons with going with a single set up than a dual set up? What do you guys think?

I think the single looks funny because the rear bumper has the shapes in the rear lower valence for dual exhaust.

Other than that there is really no problem with it. You might have to post a new thread and ask about the bumper issue with single exhaust.

it would seem twin exhausts would be more efficient for a v engine. a comparison would be nice showing gains/losses versus weight saved by a single exhaust

Well even the stock exhaust isn't really a dual system..its one pipe with two exits.

It's 2 into 1 into 1 muffler with 2 exits. It's really almost single exhaust anyway. The real question is how many exhaust tips do you want.

True Dual exhaust would be separate piping from each cylinder bank with a crossover pipe somewhere in the middle, and two separate mufflers and tailpipes.

I think with the x pipe your going to get better air flow.
Also i have seen guys with the single exhaust buy nismo diffuser and customize it by filling in one of the cut outs for the exhaust and molding it in to where there is but one cut out. It looks sick when they did that.

I think in this case it's appearance only. There is still going to only be 1 muffler there and you will have 1 pipe feeding into it. It's just a matter of personal preference as to if you want two exits or 1.

Performance wise i don't think you'll see a difference at all other than maybe a chance in sound due to different flow characteristics with two exits. I can only speculate on that.

In reality, it's still a Y-pipe setup with single muffler. Now if you want to change all that and run a true-dual setup...different story.
