G35ís with Vortech Supercharger

I just had the Vortech system installed on my 2003 G35c and I have some questions.

1.What is the highest pulley/PSI you have tried? I am at 8psi considering 10psi

2.What spark plugs are you using?

3.Has anyone preformed the oil change requirements? I.e. the Vortech oil spray line.

4.Has anyone had motor issues? Pistons / Valve / lifters due to HP increase.

Re: G35ís with Vortech Supercharger

I'm just assuming this is the case...."379whp" means 379 wheel horse power.

Re: G35ís with Vortech Supercharger

Yes 379 to the wheels. I have tuned the A/f ratio to 11.8 .....12.2 to 1 .Havent touched the timing yet...still at Vortech's settings .I think the dyno guy said 440hp to the crank

Re: G35ís with Vortech Supercharger

With the smaller pully you may need to add larger injectors [dont know] I know the ATI guys had to when they went to smaller pully

I have a Vortech V-3 G35 coupe. It is very difficult to get out and replace the cone air filter. Any tips/suggestions? Some say slide it down around the wheel well. When I look, it does not seem possible with out damaging the filter.

the filter is gonna get deformed a little, there's no getting around that. if you have skinny fingers you can work it out/in by sliding along the core support, but your best bet is to remove the driver side fender liner and go at it from below.

Thats not true. If you trim top of radiator support and use a large screwdriver with shop rag protecting tip gently bend AC supply line to condenser out of way the filter drops in with no deformation.

1. I have used a 2.87 pulley to 12 PSI switching to 2.75 after built motor tuned.
2. 1 step colder NGK iridium.
3. Never had issues with spray line. 5.5 years and 32K with Vortech
4. Do not change pulley to smaller diameter without a retune. I changed to a 3.12 did not retune immediately and ended cracking rings over short period of time.

most people would rather not go hacking into their core support to slide in a filter that can easily be installed without doing so. to each his own i guess

I didn't "HACK UP" my radiator support. It was carefully cut and radiused. Beats the hell out of deforming the filter into a twisted beer can .

The filter is not easily installed in a G35, remember the instructions have the filter pushed up to radiator support and than mount supercharger.

I was providing an alternative that allows easy installation without deforming filter.

the filter gets deformed a little (as stated above). if someone is crushing their filter until it looks like a twisted beer then they probably shouldn't be cutting into their core support. the filter goes on pretty easy if you go through the wheel well.

Real easy, let me see jack up car, remove wheel and than remove fender liner.

My method gently pry on condenser line and remove filter (after clamp loosened and PCV hose disconnected)

I'm constantly making improvements and cant begin to count number of times filter was removed over the last 70 months of owning a Vortech.

Alternate method which you did too was the remote CAI.

I briefly used the CAI setup but decided to clean up engine bay and relocated oil catch tank from top of radiator support to frame rail.

So I guess to each his own
