High octane gas on Oahu

Who's got high octane gas on Oahu? Pretty much everyone's got 91/92, but which service stations have 93 or racing fuel?

Help guys, this'll affect my thinking on mapping for a potential TT install.

Thanks.

yep, the 76 right before McCully library sure makes filling up with 100 easy-- just push the button and watch the $$$ start racking up i think the hardest part is weaving through the 5 or so cars that always seem to be waiting for thier turn in the garage.

Thanks for the info guys. Seems like a pain in the butt to be doing a partial tank to get the octane on the tank up to 93 though.

Anywhere with 93?

Use 5 gal of Xylen in your tank, prior to adding Xylene, mix in 5oz. of Marvel Mystery Oil. With our gas capacity, it should bring your octane rating to about 97-98.

It's cheaper and effective. though, race gas has several different anti knock properties. I used to run Xylene in my t-type at 20psi with no knock, I would change out the fuel for the track so I could boost at 25psi and use C16.

Instead of hunting for a high octane gas station....why dont you just use the APS system that is already putting down something like 400 to the wheels on 91? Unless you are planning to boost higher or run a high boost for only the track. But then again...if you are planning to run that high...a complete rebuild will be in order as well. 400+ on a daily driver to me should be more than enough...any more and that could be a mixture for disaster on the streets in rain or in moments of "carelessness" .

The tuning on the APS is already keyed to the 91 octane level on the stock ECU setup: http://setemail.ru/forums/forced-induction/53373-aps-tt-system-05-g35-coupe-420-whp-91-0ctane-fuel.html

Anyhow...just my thoughts. Figured that it would be easier to find a kit that can produce the HP that you want within the limitations of what you can get locally. What happens if that 76 closes or discontinues the race gas depending on what happens assuming the gas price cap goes into affect. If a gas station cant bring in extra profits from what they sell, they will have to cut some services. The race gas is an extra service and I dont see that as being hightly profitable on a day by day basis. Also if the race park does close and another one isnt built........why should any shop bring in race gas anymore? There will be no need for it and if someone does bring it in...you know that it is going to be highest bidder wins.

So in general my bottom line thought would be to work within your available means. A kick $$ race car on the streets is always a cool idea for us car nuts....but gotta also remember that we are the minority of the car pool out there. If and when things change...it will support and cater to the majority of car owners out there. So work with that mindset and I think you should not have a problem looking for gas, having to mix this with that, and measuring...okay I put in 8 gal. of 91, thus I need to add 7 gal of 100 to make a 94 mix in a 16 gal tank.

Not dissing on everyone else that does this...I just think that things are changing with the proposal and the bill of having the gas cap law moving forward in the legislature. Also the race way park might be closing and a new one has not been decided nor approved. This will affect the race community and its supporters as well I am sure. To what extent has to be seen as of yet. But I would go with the worse case scenario of not being able to get race gas or its mixtures within a reasonable price and attainability, and that 91 will be most that we can get at any gas station. It does not matter what kind of octane gas is available if you cant get to it or afford it, whether it be on a day to day basis, or just for the tracks. Just my 2 page long thougts...................

Hoboy *PUI* huh?

So here are my thoughts.
1. Toluene or xylene could be used, but I'd have to bring/buy pretty major quantities and want to stay off the EPA's most wanted list for Hawaii.
2. Yes I am looking at the APS TT kit with 91 map, but wanted to see if there are stations out there so I could run the 93 map.
3. APS TT kit is making a max 380 W-HP with the stock cats and their true dual exhaust on 91 octane. 400 is with the 93 octane map and same exhaust setup.....the extra 20 hp with the additional 2 octane points makes me drool since the cost for either map is the same, just would have to pay a little more for 93. Since the Unichip is locked and will probably remain so down here for a couple of years I want to go with the 93 map if possible, if not it's the 91.

4. Knock Aloha Stadium down and put in housing.
5. Build a new stadium up in Dole's fields complete with world class sporting track which includes all necessary infrastructure. Ahh well we can dream huh?

Thanks for the input.[thumbsup]

----edit-----
6. Oh fully built means I need to retune my engine to get the max power/good power for the setup. This again means a Unichip tuner and there are none here. ($2k+ to ship to Cali to get the car tuned is not an option).
